Salzburg Development S.A. focuses on historic building restoration in the Casco Antiguo or Casco Viejo area of Panama City, Panama and land development in the Pedasi and Playa Venado areas of the Azuero Peninsula. The company is dedicated to delivering unique and high quality projects while incorporating "green" practices such as utilizing recovered tropical hardwood, installing low consumption lighting, and the reforestation of the dry tropical forests once common in Pedasi and the Azuero Peninsula.

Salzburg Development was founded by Uschi Zimmermann of Salzburg, Austria and Joel Jelderks of Seattle, Washington. Deeply influenced by the beautifully restored old city in Salzburg and the colonial cities of the Americas, they saw an opportunity in the renovation and restoration of the historic quarter of Panama City, the Casco Antiguo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the flip side, the dramatic natural beauty, surfing, fishing, and eco tourism potential found on the Azuero Peninsula, created a best of both worlds scenario for development, all within the borders of Panama.
